My Soul is Anchored in the Lord: When your Soul is Anchored in the Lord This is when God is truly or

This morning I heard the Lord saying several times to me, “Your soul is anchored in the Lord.” At first, I thought He was just singing that song in my spirit. But after reflecting on my thoughts, I realized He was saying vehemently that my soul was anchored in the Lord. I immediately began to do a quick study of the word anchor and this is what came of it.

The word anchored means any various devices dropped by a chain, cable, or rope to the bottom of a body of water for preventing or restricting the motions of a vessel or other floating objects, typically having broad, hook-like arms that bury themselves in the bottom to provide a firm hold. This means when you are anchored in the Lord you cannot be moved no matter what! When our soul/our will is anchored in the Lord, you have absolutely no control over your mind, your heart or your emotions.

Most of the time we usually see boats anchored. The boat is totally under the control of the anchor. In other words, it is under the dominion, rule or authority of the anchor and so is our soul! Our soul or our will like the boat is under the dominion, rule and authority of our Father, the Lord God and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

The purpose of being anchored in the Lord is to bring stability to our soul. It is design to stabilize, strengthen, secure and to make firm and safe our mind, heart and emotions. When a boat is in the water and the seas are raging, the boat that is anchored has the ability and strength to stand and endure the storm. With this said, the anchor brings balance, health, sanity, soundness, and rationality to a situation that seems unbearable and/or unreasonable to our mind, heart and emotions. It is the anchor that will allow us to make a sound decision when things or life seems to become intolerable and agonizing.

Without being anchored in the Lord, we will not last or be able to endure all things. We would be unstable, unsteady, rocky, wobbly and prone to psychiatric problems or sudden changes of mood. In other words, not being anchored in the Lord causes us to be imbalanced, deranged, demented, disturbed, unhinged, volatile and kooky in all our ways. For the word of God in James 1:8 says, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” As a matter of fact, the Message Bible says it like this, “Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.”

Our soul/will, our mind, our heart, our emotions must be anchored in the Lord. We cannot go out into this world without our soul being anchored in the Lord, as we will surely be tossed to and fro…
